Evansville, Indiana is a city located along the Ohio River, adjacent to Henderson, Kentucky. About the Mesker Park Zoo and Botanical Garden
The Mesker Park Zoo and Botanical Garden was established in 1928 and remains as one of the largest zoos in the state. Expanding across forty-five acres, this beautiful zoo is home to many exotic creatures as well as many fascinating attractions.
There are several themed regions within the zoo, such as South America, North America, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Within these sectors are animals and plants which are native to these places. Open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, admission into the facility is $9.50 per adult. Those between the ages of three and twelve may be admitted for $6.50, and $5.50 on Tuesdays. All those under the age of two are admitted for absolutely free. Please note that the hours of operation are extended in August, and the facility will be open to 5 p.m. instead.
